Which tags should developers include?
og:title, og:type, og:image, og:url and og:description, ideally og:image:width, og:image:height and og:image:alt, plus twitter:card. The generator outputs all of these.
Are special characters escaped?
Yes. Quotes, ampersands and angle brackets in your text are escaped in the attribute values, so the markup stays valid.
Can I audit an existing page?
Yes. Paste its head (or just the meta tags) under More options and click Import. The fields fill in and the warnings show what is missing.
Can I also get the title and canonical tags?
Yes. The option to also add the title, meta description and canonical link is on by default.
